Listening… Shows+updated study routine!

Well, well. How long have  I been learning Dutch?

Seriously – not yet a year. My real efforts started in November, when I signed up for a Dutch language course.

Not in a serous manner  – I study for around a year now:) You know, like, learning one word a week and feeling super proud 🙂

now  I got a new problem. I HATE KID SHOWS! No, I dislike being educated about what kids like, no, I do not want to know that “katje zegt meeew”! I am 24 and I want to be entertained.

After sitting foooreeeeeeeever at NPO, and after endless googling, I found a TV show PENOZA.

At least it has a plot)))

how do I watch it? I watch, stop, translate subtitles…, scroll back, watch))))) 45 minutes – for 2 hours.

Good luck to me)))

and, here,is my Dutch learning plan for everyday of summer. i follow it… more or less.

Type verbs=at least 1 past form.

Memrise=app, 15 minutes a day.

One song=song met songtekst, singing.

Kerst: words and things

some Christmas holiday info I overheard from a bunch of people.  I personally never had Christmas in the NL: but very looking forward!

Xmas  in the Netherlands is celebrated two days in a row, 25 and 26 December. Celebrating at the eveningof 24 is not common.

Happy holidays!

Fijne Feestdagen – happy holidays

Dutch shows with Dutch subtitles!

A compilation of Dutch shows with Subtitles (Dutch). I have just found them, bookmarked, and will watch… I  hope someday  I will post an updated post. So, now that I write, I am still not sure about the quality of what I post here.

I learn Dutch for good 3,5 months (lol), and watching without subtitles is still a pain ( Ik hoor nooits!)). I also agree that watching something with Russian or English subtitles does not really help: your brain is not concentrating on Dutch.

So, after dedicated search, here is what I found to work on my listening skills:

I found these shows in ‘MEEST BEKEKEN” section, which hopefully means these ones are popular with public, nice, and watchable.

BONUS: A cool listening game to learn Dutch songs and try te HOOR IETS!

Movies that I am currently trying to find:

  • Alles is Liefde.
  • Boy 7.

Off to watch silly shows! Share your ideas or thoughts in comments! Follow tag ” #listening”for more posts on similar matter.

Dutch, I HEAR YOU!

Dutch shows!

After a long time, finally found this gem show!

Het Zandkasteel

That is the response from Quora that helped me in the show search:

I had to think about this for a while. Children’s shows are the best option for you, I think. Dutch tv channels for kids here are Zapp (age 8-15), Zappelin (age 3-7), Nickelodeon (age 8-15) and Disney XD (age 8-15)*. I’d suggest visiting the websitewww.uitzendinggemist.nl and select programmes of the channels Zapp or Zappelin, or visiting the websites of Nickelodeon or Disney XD.

I can’t think of a grown up tv show or series with simple language.

Let me know if you get stuck on the websites! Veel succes!

*I’ve estimated the age group.

Unfortunately, this show had only one episode with subtitles 😦

and  i do not feel like buying a dvd.. if only i could find an online version with subtitles – i am even willing to pay, you know!!! Not that I am only looking for easy pirate ways. loved the characters and the level, but too hard without subtitles 😦

I was lucky as hell to watch the first episode about how animals poop in the ground and people should use WC 😂😂😂

en wat doet een hond???,,,,,,,

yes yes, it is sad to watch a show like that when you are 23, but the words are useful… and hopefully I learn to understand Dutch speech 😀

in the meanwhile my search of the show to watch goes on!!

if you know any  – feel free to advise!!!

Funny Duolingo – 1

Learning with Duolingo app is easy. I am not sure to what extend the words stay in my brain though  – sometimes you laugh and forget waht you learnt just the next second.

Here are the examples of what makes me laugh, and what made me think. I already crawled through the basics, animals and colors, and now slowly move towards kinda real sentences.

Duolingo is a great app, and I am determined to finish it )) I started my Dutch learning way at the end of August 2015. Let’s see how I go with Duolingo! I think I will write a seperate post to review it.

On the way with Duo I encounter many things, and that is why I finally decided to share them with those, who maybe just like me, learn Dutch with Duo.
